Super fun to test out all the brown tones  about 90% of the drawing is color pencils the last 10 % is white acrylic ( highlights )

This time i used a paper called :  bøttepapir 300g ( when i translate it in google i get : hand made paper ) The paper is good for blending just a few layers but it gets easily destroys if you work to much on it. It was good to try it out, i needed to rethink my working method. And i think that every artist should do that  just try something that they know will not work in their own style, and see how they can use it to their advantage

Cartoon Dog Scetches by Dae-Thalin

Tried something new during my vacation in Greece(August). I actually had no intention to upload these scetches, at least not as seperate image(maybe in a scetchdump), but Acayth saw them in my scetchbook yesterday and told me so upload them...and her advice regarding these matters has worked out pretty well several times for me, so yeah

I tried to draw several different dog-breeds in a cartoonish style: Greyhound, Pug(what an abdomination), German Shepherd, Chihuahua, Poodle, some kind of Terrier that looks an awful lot like Lissy, and a Bernard.

Another Doctor Who art commission from Big Chief Studios! Portrait of the Ninth Doctor as played by Christopher Eccleston - it's meant to be a dually melancholy/hopeful piece, as it was inspired by both the triumphant scene in The Doctor Dances, as well as his bittersweet regeneration scene at the end of the season. (I think the nanogenes really resembles the golden light of regeneration? Maybe it's intentional, as they both cause change/revival? These were my thoughts...) Part of my Doctor Who poster series.

This painting took even MORE hours and tears than my Tenth Doctor painting, which I didn't think was actually possible... I'm sorry, I have to talk about this. I was basically crying to everyone I knew, I was struggling with the likeness and the pose and just EVERYTHING, think I worked on this on-and-off for nearly four months. OTL I had to repaint the hands so many times; in the end, I just set up lights and had my poor boyfriend (who had to listen all the crying) do the same pose and took my own reference photos... Aaanyway. Finally finished. Painted in Photoshop CS5 with a Wacom Cintiq tablet.

Finally all done. This is the culmination of 19 days of drawing and tattooing, the most perfect work i have ever done.

The dragons are Urnes-style, with a red light to them.

The pattern is from a vikingage knifehilt, found in Poland.

The idea is to create the feeling of armor, to empower and protect the wearer. I think that worked out.

The Turn of the Universe by alicexz

I was commissioned by Big Chief Studios to do some more Doctor Who art! This is a portrait of the Tenth Doctor as played by David Tennant, and is a part of my official Doctor Who poster series. I really wanted to continue my ongoing theme of the Doctor + wonder, which began with "The Roar of Our Stars" piece I did last year.

This painting took many many hours (and tears) and many reference images... total painting time... I lost count... but I finished it sometime in August 2013. Painted in Photoshop CS5 with a Wacom Cintiq tablet. Will be posting Nine and a special 50th Anniversary painting shortly too! Thank you BCS & BBC for this awesome project!
